Alejandro Larrazabal

Associate Attorney

About

Alejandro Larrazabal has represented a broad array of clients in federal and state courts covering a wide range of civil issues at the trial and appellate court levels, which required extensive research and writing. Mr. Larrazabal has argued and/or briefed before the 3rd District Court of Appeals, the 4th District Court of Appeals, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and presented jurisdictional briefs before the Florida Supreme Court.

In addition, Mr. Larrazabal has been involved in pro bono work for most of his career and provided life-changing assistance to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Additionally, through his pro bono representation he's been recognized by the Florida Supreme Court.

In 2019, Mr. Larrazabal reversed the administrative court’s denial of a client’s license and prevailed in the Fourth District Court of Appeal. In 2018, Mr. Larrazabal appealed the trial court’s ruling on the issue of pre-suit notice and waiver under Florida’s medical negligence statute. In 2016, Mr. Larrazabal successfully defended all aspects of the issue of whether a four-wheel ATV was a dangerous vehicle and was granted a summary judgment on a negligent supervision claim brought against the Appellee. This has subsequently been cited for the proposition that a parent is not liable for the tort of a minor child because of the mere fact of paternity. Additionally, in 2016, Mr. Larrazabal successfully defended the issue of whether the waiver of sovereign immunity and pre-suit notice compliance was complied with in a tort case against a state entity.

In federal court, Mr. Larrazabal appealed discovery and evidentiary issues from a magistrate’s ruling and appealed to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals the entry of summary judgment at the trial court on a slip and fall incident that occurred on a cruise. Additionally, Mr. Larrazabal has argued complex issues, such as petitions for declaratory judgment to determine a Medicaid lien amount/reimbursement before the State of Florida’s Administrative Division, attempting to pierce and challenge the worker’s compensation virtual certainty standard at the trial level, and other novel issues.
