About

Siobhan N. Bonlla-Portner, Esq. also known as “Sibby”, was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. As an Afro-Latina, her parents instilled the importance and value of obtaining an education. Without hesitation, Sibby always had a passion for reading, writing, and learning about the law. After graduating with Honors from Saint Raymonds Academy for Girls High School (2009), she attended the College of New Rochelle where she successfully earned her dual bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science with dual minors in Writing and Legal Studies (2014). During her undergraduate studies, Sibby worked in the legal and political field as a Paralegal assisting New York Attorneys in Real Estate Foreclosure and Worker’s Compensation Cases. She also canvassed and assisted with management of political outreach programs in her community. Her experience provided exposure to raising votes for the right causes she believed in and continues to presently support.

From the time Sibby was a kid, she knew she wanted to be a Lawyer, and so she did. After graduating from the College of New Rochelle, she left New York City to attend Ave Maria School of Law in Naples (2017), Florida. After obtaining her law degree, in 2018, Sibby was hired as a Court Program Specialist serving County and Circuit Court Judges on Family and Civil cases for the 20th Judicial Circuit. As a specialist, Sibby worked with Judges, Attorneys, and Pro-Se Litigants to ensure all documentation was properly docketed and ready for trial. While maintaining this position, Sibby learned to help all parties via resources provided by the State of Florida if Mediation, Counseling or Therapy was needed for Self Help representation. In 2019, Sibby passed the Florida Bar and transitioned into her Attorney role as an Assistant State Attorney handling criminal misdemeanor and county ordinance cases. Sibby served the State of Florida for a total of three years before expanding her career in Civil Litigation.

Sibby has handled Family and Personal Injury Protection cases since her inception into civil litigation practice. At Petion Law, Sibby not only handles Bodily Injury cases nut she manages the Personal Injury Protection and Property Damage Department.
